If you're an artist interested in using the Internet to display your portfolio to the world, the three most important factors to consider are:

  • How do I update my web site?
  • How will people find me?
  • How much will it cost?

You're in Control

ArtCrawl.com gives it's members complete control of the information displayed. Using simple administrative forms, you change the web site's information anytime you want, 24 hours a day! Make changes to your biography, add new pieces to your portfolio (with images), record exhibition and collection information, and much more. All with just the click of a mouse.

As an ArtCrawl.com member, you'll also have your own address on the Internet, http://www.ArtCrawl.com/yourname.html. Each time you add or change something, this page is automatically refreshed to include your changes. And because of our vast knowledge of the Web's major search engines, this page incorporates the latest aids designed to increase your chance of being found when someone searches for a Type, Style, Media or Subject of artwork that you work in.

Expanded Exposure

Simply having a web site posted online does not mean anyone will see your work. In fact, if you do a search for "Art" on any of the major search engines, you'll find over 200,000,000 web pages! Try to get found in that crowd.

The ArtCrawl.com system does not rely on trying to attract all the world's art collectors to our web site. Instead, we've applied some programming magic to push your information out to other popular art related web sites. This simple programming solution automatically (and at no extra cost to you) puts your work in front of thousands of new potential collectors.

DoubletakeGallery.com selectively displays artists works from the ArtCrawl.com web site. Doubletake Gallery is a consumer web site that offers a large and ever changing inventory of artwork by big name artists whom visitors are already familiar. Thousands of visitors per day use DoubletakeGallery.com to find what they want, sell what they want to replace, or just spend some time window shopping.

By having your work displayed on DoubletakeGallery.com, you greatly increase the odds of being noticed by qualified collectors and other gallery owners who are searching for new and unique types of art. It's like advertising in a magazine that's circulated to art collectors and art industry professionals, except you can change the advertisement any time you want!

“How much does it cost?”

Our philosophy is simple; if the service is easy and affordable, you'll take advantage of it. If it's designed well so that collectors can easily find what they want, they'll come back often and be willing to buy from you.

New, Simplified Billing
Annual Fee $250.00

Collectors will contact you directly. There are no commissions payable to ArtCrawl.com! With your first annual payment, we'll setup your initial Studio Page and upload the first 5 images. After that you're able to scan and upload your own images, up to 20. If you want to display more than 20 pieces, the charge is only $5.00 per year per extra piece. If you want us to scan and upload the images for you, it's $15.00 per item (after the initial 5). The $15.00 charge includes both the thumbnail image and the large image.

“What do I get?”

We contacted many artists before starting to build this web site. What we were told was that it had to be well organized, easily searched, and never, never out of date. Potential buyers had to be able to contact the artist directly, either to purchase or just to ask questions. It had to be easily updated directly by the artist, either at work during lunch or at 3:00 am when that last touch has been applied to the latest masterpiece. And maybe most importantly for some, it had to be affordable.

It sounded like a tall order, but it's exactly what we built. Below are just some of the exciting details.

  • Artist's Administrative Page

Artists are given a password that gives them easy access to add, change or delete any of their information from any computer in the world. Any change instantly updates the web site, and rewrites the Artist's Studio Page. Using this page is as easy as filling in a form and clicking "Submit". You will not need to learn any special programming codes.

  • Artist's Studio Page and Artist's Statement

Each time you submit a change using your Admin Page, a personal Studio Page is created just for you. This page can be submitted to search engines and is designed to help get you to the top of the list whenever someone searches for a Type, Style Media or Subject of artwork that you are currently displaying online. This page includes your own brief "Artist's Statement" with a representational image of your work next to it. Using your admin page, you can change either the Statement or the Representational Image as often as you want.

  • Artist's Biography

Add to or change your Biography as often as you want. You can keep changing it until it reads exactly the way you want it to. As much contact information as you want can be included with the Biography, including address, studio phone, fax phone, email address and a click through to your Home Page address if you're already on the web.

  • List Your Art

List and display up to 20 works of your art in any media, with full size images, details, descriptions and prices. Add, change or delete art work from this list as often as you like. A built in FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program allows you to attach images to your art work titles with a simple click of your mouse. Even people with no previous computer experience will find the process fun and easy to use.

  • Categorize Your Art Work

You can use pull-down menus to select the Type, Style, Media and Subject of each individual piece that you put online. If you need to, adding a new category selection is as easy as typing it into a form.

  • Built in Search Engine

Visitors are able to search by Type, Style, Media and Subject so they can find the exact artist that best fit their interests. Because of the dynamic programming incorporated into the web site, visitors are only offered options that are currently available. Search results that return no values are a thing of the past.

  • Exhibitions

Visitors are able to review your exhibition schedule in a calendar format, complete with addresses. Completed exhibitions are maintained in the database so visitors can see how active your past exhibition schedule has been.

  • Collections

You're able to display a list of Museums, Corporations and Private collections that include your artwork. Details about each collection can be kept private or made public, at your discretion.

  • No Commissions Payable

You do not pay a percentage of your sales to ArtCrawl.com unless we're retained to help secure a sale. We're here to help if you need us, but only if you need us.

More To Come!

Planning future upgrades to ArtCrawl.com is continuous so that it will remain the best location for art collectors to see new artistic talent. Some of these upgrades will be included in the basic monthly service package while others will be offered separately. Listed below are just a few of the ideas currently under development.

  • World Wide Exposure

Art Galleries on the web are always looking for new forms of content to help retain visitors to their web sites. We're developing a special customized web page that these galleries can place on their web sites that will display the ArtCrawl.com information. You will retain complete control over which web sites you want displaying your information. As this program expands, so does the potential audience admiring your work.

  • Private Email Database

You'll be able to store your client's email addresses in your own private database. Visitors will be given the option to add their name and email address directly to this database. With just a few clicks of your mouse, you'll be able to bulk email an exhibition announcement or a postcard of your latest release to those potential clients.

  • Audio Biographies and Artwork Descriptions

Using standard Internet browsing software, it's possible for Artists to record and store their thoughts about one of their pieces and to have that recording replayed by anyone viewing that Artist's online collection. As ArtCrawl.com grows, we'll incorporate this feature into the each of the Artist's Studio's.

  • Automatic Search Engine Submittal

Programming will be put in place that will submit your Studio Page to all the major Internet search engines automatically.

  • People's Choice Award

A voting system will be created so that visitors can vote for their favorite artist and/or their favorite piece. At the end of each month, the votes will be tallied and the winning Artist will be given a privileged position on ArtCrawl's home page.

There are other features planned that are just as exciting as these, and many new features that will come from the suggestions of our members and visitors. This is truly a new concept, but one who's time has come.
