Bernie received his first camera from his father over 45 years ago, and has been mesmerized and positively obsessed with telling the story of nature and people every since. He is a self-taught photographer, and has had the privilege of being guided over the years by such renowned photographers as Doug Beasley, Jim Brandenburg, and Dewitt Jones.
Bernie has just completed a project entitled, The Soul of Flowers, which shows the intimate and magnificent inside world of flowers. Bernie is presently working on a project with his poet mother about the natural cycles of life entitled, Grace Our Ordinary Days: A Mother and Son Celebrate Life's Journey. As a renaissance artist, Bernie is also a painter and musician, and uses his art in workshop settings dealing with creativity, reflection, healing,and spiritual discovery in life and work. He is the co-founder, with his artist wife Constance Judith Saunders, of the Center for Living Art. |
