 From an early age Don loved hiking and canoeing in the wilds of Northern Wisconsin. This early love of nature led him to his current devotion to painting oil landscapes. In his art Don captures the progression of light in natural scenes and structures during different seasons and in different atmospheric conditions. This is accomplished in an impressionistic style which gives the viewer a feeling of joy in the beauty of rural and natural scenes.
Don studied under Joseph Occhipinti for seven years at the National Art League. He has won many awards of excellence at Juried Exhibitions and he is a past president of the Suburban Art League in Long Island, NY.
Don has exhibited at many art groups including the Salmagundi Club, Hudson Valley Art Association and Chelsea Center. He is a resident artist and member of the art committee.
Member: National Art League, Tri County Artists, Independent Art Society, Suburban Art League (past president), Salmagundi Club, and the Southern Vermont Art Center.
