A Chicago native, Sharyn Hultman began her artist's journey at the age of 12 when she was awarded a scholarship at the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago. Sharyn erned her MS in Art Education and later went on the study with Mr. Cheng Chee of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Mr. Guo Wen-Da, of the University of Minnesota, and more recently at the San Francisco Art Institute in California. She has also participated in the Split Rock Arts Program, and variuos art centers in Duluth, Rochester, and Owatana Minnesota. Her bold watercolor and mixed media paintings reflect Sharyn's love of nature and the human spirit, with a decidedly Asian influence which belie her world travels throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.Sharyn's paintings have been exhibited in Washington D.C., New York, Chicago, San Diego, the Minneapolis/St.Paul Metro Area, Rochester, Duluth, and Lake Nebagamon/Lake Minnesuing Wisconsin with a "Best of Show" award at the Highland Art Show in St.Paul Minnesota and publication of work in the international magazine Status. She is also President of the Sharyn Card Company, painting and distributing one-of-a-kind watercolor note cards throughout the U.S. and Japan. |
